Certified Dare to Lead™ FacilitatorDare to Lead™ Training for Teams by Tasnim McCormick Benhalim

NOTE: If you haven’t heard of Brené Brown – but know our DiversityWealth work through Allies in Community™, Thriving in the New Normal™, Translating Diversity with Cultural Agility™ or other DiversityWealth signature programs – please read on! This new Dare to Lead™ work aligns beautifully with our other projects – and is some of the most powerful work I have ever encountered.

Who we are is how we lead.Like many of you, I have loved and followed the work of Dr. Brené Brown through her TED Talks, books, interviews and now, new podcast. So, in the fall of 2018, when Brené’s latest book, Dare to Lead™, was released, I was inspired by the ways in which she had operationalized key ideas for organizations and the world of work. I knew I wanted to apply.

The road to the Dare to Lead™ certification was far from easy and, like every worthwhile thing in life, the rigor and effort of prep and learning were commensurate with return. Brené and her exceptional team offered a thorough approach to the material and on-point professionalism. Beautiful work ─ beautifully transmitted.

So, what is Dare to Lead™? This new approach to daring, authentic leadership hinges on the power of vulnerability and courage to transform workplaces. It empowers participants to take responsibility for finding the potential in others and themselves, and taking the initiative to develop that potential.

Our Dare to Lead™ training helps participants learn how to build workplace trust and shared accountability. It gives teams tools to respond to high-performance, high-pressure situations.

A leader is…

…Anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people  and processes and who has the courage to develop that potential.

─ Dr. Brené Brown

This enables leaders to grow workplaces with more open dialogue and greater transparency, strengthening adaptability to change, problem-solving skills, and honest conversations. Dare to Lead™ training lays foundations of psychological safety that reduce the worry of being seen as ignorant, incompetent, negative, or disruptive and enable people to have the courage to speak up, ask questions and share ideas and feedback.

  • How do we create teams where being a learner and getting it right is more important than being a knower and being right?
  • How do we encourage effective and honest connections between people in our diverse modern workplaces?
  • What are the steps to develop leadership skill sets to become more courageous and effective in the workplace?

“This training teaches four practical, measurable skill sets.”

─ Dr. Brené Brown

Dare to Lead™ training builds courage through these four skill sets:

1. Rumbling with Vulnerability

2. Living into our Values

3. BRAVING Trust

4. Learning to Rise

“Tasnim quickly established rapport with participants and masterfully created a safe container for conversations which required vulnerability. Tasnim is a skilled facilitator of ideas, drew on her extensive experience with various organizations and was considered to be highly credible. “The entire workshop was amazing!!! I really felt that Tasnim knew the content well and it is a part of who she is as a facilitator and a leader. She met everyone where they were, she facilitated sensitive conversations and digging deep emotionally for all participants.
